6S Workshop Code of Conduct

For the 6S virtual workshop, we are utilizing the following code of conduct for online workshops and conferences developed by Eleanor Armstrong and Divya M. Persaud (both University College London), and originally used at the Space Science in Context conference in May 2020. We would like to acknowledge their kindness in giving us permission to use this code.

We do not tolerate the following:

  1. Screen-shotting or screen-recording at any point of the conference without the expressed permission from other participants
  2. Spam in chat windows or contact forms, including reposting the same word/content repeatedly in order to disrupt the conversation
  3. Harassment, bullying, and intimidation

We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and bullying, which we define as:

  1. Negative comments about race/ethnicity, gender (including gender identity), sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, physical appearance, citizenship, or other protected categories
  2. Intimidation or threats, including of the moderators
  3. Misusing screen-sharing capabilities
  4. Sharing images especially to threaten or sexually harass
  5. Unwelcome sexual attention
  6. Threatening or other endangerment of minors
  7. Any activity meant to convey or cultivate hostility
  8. Ad hominem insults or other attacks
  9. Encouraging the above behaviour

Please also avoid the following:

  1. Interrupting speakers and fellow attendees
  2. Use of any GIFs but especially flashing GIFs in the chat

Enforcement

If you violate the code of conduct, we retain the right to make you leave the session and you will not be permitted to rejoin.

We welcome reports of harassment. All reports will be kept confidential and may be done anonymously via this form.
