Structured Analytics

These questions help orient and organize elaborative review of the "Spaces and Places" thematic collection of the 4S open access journal "Engaging Science, Technology and Society" (ESTS) with expected publication in 2021.

These questions have been developed during the summer school 2024 (Temporal sounds) at the Marburg University.

General comments about artifacts and collections can be submitted using this structured analytic.

This is an analytical tool geared toward mapping the text from concern, question, argument and implication.

These questions have been created to help guide the orals committee members of the PhD student under review to evaluate the PECE essays that have been created.

This pedagogical material, contributed by Pankaj Sekhsaria, accompanies the article "What is Innovation in the Non-English Languages?" [ADD LINK] by the same author published in ESTS as part of the STS and Innovation Thematic Collection [ADD LINK]. It showcases analytical questions related to the article that can be directly anootated on STS Infrastructures. Questions 1 to 6 gather around language and translation.  The second set of questions focuses on objects and materialities. A PDF version is also available for off-line use in the classroom.

This question set helps characterize particular bodies of STS Research. It was developed first in the context of the course, LA 6350: Advanced Introduction to Science, Technology, and Society at IIT Hyderabad in order to help students understand STS scholarship from the vantage point of their particular research interests.

This question set is intended to allow for querying various kinds of STS Formations (departments, publications, regional networks etc.) across regions and scales. 

This structured analytic has been developed for the Innovating STS exhibit for the 2019 annual meeting of Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) hosted in New Orleans.

This structured analytic includes questions that can be used to annotate digital collections focusing on STS Publications.

This question set supports annotation of scholarly articles and books. It is useful for (individual and collaborative) development of annotated bibliographies and literature reviews. 

This question set helps users to analyze pedagogical programs, approaches, philosophies, and tactics. 

This question set supports a project to build a transnational-sts bibliography, drawing in and highlighting research and concepts developed outside EuroAmerica.  Contributors are encouraged to share references and commentary on research that they have found compelling as an STS researcher whether or not the researchers and research discussed is explicitly  cast as  “STS.”  

These annotation questions are meant for participants of the 6S 2020 workshop to use to respond to 7 prompts (the "sketches"). Choose the sketch question that you are responding to and insert your answer (which may be an image, depending on the prompt) within the text field. Participants should respond to at least two prompts (i.e. should complete at least two sketches).
