Critical Commentary
As a lead up to the ‘Animating STS’ exhibit, we contacted each Drexel STS faculty member and asked them a series of short questions about their relationship to the field of Science and Technology Studies. We instructed faculty to keep answers brief, something that could be audio recorded in 1-2 minutes. While some faculty members dove into the questions, a few indicated their research did a better job of demonstrating their engagement with the field, rather than responses could. Another person went as far as to rewrite our questions…
Simultaneously, we collected images from each faculty’s research - from fieldwork or publications - that could be used to create research snapshots. Each faculty snapshot is on display at the Center for Science, Technology, and Society. This component of the ‘Animating STS’ exhibit launched at Drexel’s Humanities & Social Sciences Lab open house in April 2018, and will be on display until October 2018.
