Maggie Mang Collaboration Bio

I am a third-year PhD student in the department of Science and Technology Studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, USA. My doctoral research focuses on the technoscientific management of (bodily and environmental) metabolism through an attention to industrial agri-food. My research and pedagogical interests are significantly influenced by feminist-, queer-, and crip-of-color critique that draw attention to environment, differential bodies, health, food, and punishment. Previously, I completed a Master’s in Medicine, Health, and Society at Vanderbilt University, where my project focused on compulsory (un)wellness, race, and disability. I have experience in setting up and managing research projects; facilitating student engagement; and administrative organizational work. I am especially interested in generative conflict and conflict navigation as it shows up in our scholarly, pedagogical, and interpersonal commitments.
