I am a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. My research explores the social history of road transport in the Indian cities of Delhi, Bombay and Madras. The main aim of my research is to understand the societal changes that accompanied the transition from older forms of transport to modern modes of transport such as trams, cars and buses. I am also interested in understanding the connection between modernity and the history of technology in South Asia. In the future I want to work on the interconnections between the history of science, technology and health. By participating in the 6S workshop I wish to learn about the research methods used by other disciplines to study science and technology.
