Biography
Emily York is an assistant professor in the School of Integrated Sciences (SIS) at James Madison University and Co-Director of the STS Futures Lab. She holds a PhD in Communication (Science Studies) from the University of California-San Diego. Her research and teaching interests engage the social, political, and ethical dimensions of emerging technologies and innovation regimes, the reproduction of STEM cultures and STS/STEM pedagogies, and critical approaches to STS inquiry. She participates in the Social Studies of Science (4S) community and is an associate editor as part of the editorial collective of Engaging Science, Technology, and Society, and an associate editor for the journal Engineering Studies.
