My academic studies include, Post doctoral student in childhood and youth. PhD in Education with emphasis in Pedagogical Mediation, Master in Social Sciences with emphasis in Anthropology, Master in Systemic Psychology, Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Anthropology.
As a psychologist and as an anthropologist, I have studied and worked for 18 years on
changes and its response in diverse contexts. Considering the possibility of humanity to
rethink and create new processes led towards an STS (Social Technology and Society)
interest. During my time as a university professor and a researcher, I have studied how
notions of development and innovation are constructed. Several networks intervene in
such creation. These networks have a different dimension that include policy and
politics, as well as individual practices and experiences. I have found in STS (Social
Technology and Society) the tools for interdisciplinary analysis.
Professionally after 18 years of combing anthropology, psychology, education, and
STS; I have learned from several Latin American countries and their constructions of
development, and innovation; especially in Ecuador and Colombia. I have also had
different research and studies exchanges with Brazil and Argentina in which I have seen
different perspectives of STS and their importance.
For five years I was part of an interdisciplinary STS group, at Los Andes University-
Colombia. In this group as a researcher, I participated in diverse change processes on
organizations and communities using three main tools: learning communities, STS, and
design thinking. Also, we created and guided an STS certificate, on “Designee and
Social technological management”. This learning experience sought to promote an
interdisciplinary view of technology and enhance the reflexive capacity of communities
with interactive methodologies for evaluation and co-design. I have also worked on
Ministries on Ambiance, Technology, and Education and I have seen how the analysis
of innovation practices, in several countries, is related to policies and their change.
